He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Spires and Thelma Spires (Bush); his daughter Candace Spires; and his brother Charles "Gene" Spires. He is survived by: his wife Julia of Bedford; his daughters, Connie Lynne Pennington (Gene) of Bloomington and Carole Lea Brown (Mark) of Spencer; his stepchildren, Kenneth Norman Brewster (Lou) of Bedford and Tammy Elaine Norman of Bedford; and his sister Marilyn Brown of Springville. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.
