She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Melvin and Lucille DeArmond Melvin; her husband Charles A. Elkins; her stepson Scott Elkins; and her siblings, Archie Melvin, Lloyd Melvin, Ralph Melvin, Carolyn Meadors and Delia Townsend.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Hillenburg (Jerry) of North Salem, Timothy Magnus (Carrie) of Martinsville, Anita Turpin (Barry) of Mitchell, Tamara Hughes of Bedford, Paula Ely (Tim) of Mitchell and Connie Elkins-Dalton (Greg) of Mitchell, Indiana; and her brothers, Randy Melvin (Patty) of Bedford and Ronnie Melvin (Vicki) of Zionsville, Indiana.. She is also survived by great grandchildren.
