He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert East and Hazel East (Birkla); his wife Sherry Sue Phillips; his daughter Tammy Jo East; his brother Clarence East; his half-brother Nolan Birkla; and his sister Anna Belle Pirvis.
He is survived by: his children, Charles P. East of Bloomington, Rhonda Kirk (Gary) of Mitchell and Susan Roberts of Bloomington. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
