The memory of Carol J. Rainey of Bedford, Indiana, who passed away on December 14, 2024 at the age of 78, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Padgett and Ruth Evelyn Padgett (McMahan); and her husband John Rainey. She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Jackson (Perri) of Greencastle, Wes Rainey (Kim) of Heltonville and Rebecca Harding (Ray) of Bedford; her grandchildren, Haley Bowersock (Justin), Adam Lane (Allie Combs), Jessalyn Armes (David), Alicia Price (Jon), Mikaela Flynn (Mike), Rhett Rainey and Emily Chapman (Joe); and her siblings, Brenda Harrell (James) of Seymour, David Padgett (Rita) of Westport, Kenneth Padgett of Indianapolis and Keith Padgett (Phyllis) of Bedford. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Day & Carter Mortuary (1133 Lincoln Ave, Bedford, IN 47421).
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
