He is survived by: his children, Kara Dollries (Joe) of Cincinnati, OH, Julia Wernke (Jeff Schauer) of Shorewood, WI, Paul Wernke of Cincinnati, OH and John Wernke (April Bright) of Round Rock, TX; his siblings, Theresa Wallpe (Joseph) of Evansville, IN, Deborah Wanstrath (Kenneth) of Batesville, Mary Wernke of Batesville and Robert Wernke (Ann) of Batesville; his grandchildren, Abigail, Lilian, John Henry and Jayden; and his former wife Cathy Helmick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony's Church (4755 E. Morris Church Street, Batesville, IN 47006).
