He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren LeRoy Mathena and Rose Mary Mathena (Peavler); and his brother Kenneth Mathena. He is survived by: his daughter Resa J. Stewart; his son-in-law Tom Stewart of Franklin, IN; his grandson Norman Kase Stewart of Franklin, IN; his brothers, Thomas Mathena (Linda) of Franklin, IN and William "Bill" Mathena (Marsha) of Trafalgar, IN; his nephew William Mathena (Lisa) of Trafalgar, IN; his niece Jennifer Burton (Esten) of Bargersville, IN; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dalton Burton, Wyatt Burton, Karlie Burton and Ellie Mathena.
