He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Prevete (Giaccone) and Biagio Prevete; and his siblings, Felix Prevete and Anna Mae Vitale. He is survived by: his wife Dolores A. Prevete of Avon; his children, Richard Prevete (Rosemarie Lieberum), Nancy McGarry (Daniel) and Karen Copeland (David); his siblings, Ronald Prevete (Linda), Frances McGreer (Daniel) and Marie Harrigan (Thomas); his grandchildren, Sarah Grant (Timothy), Adam McGarry and Tyler Vogel; and his great grandchildren, Ethan and Dean Grant.
