He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Childers and Florence Randal Childers; and his sisters, Margaret and Betty Cloud. He is survived by: his sons, Robert Jr., Rodney (Linda) and Ronald Childers; and his grandchildren, Zachary Childers and Jordan Schaler (Aaron).
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
