He was predeceased by: his significant other Sharon Rutledge; his parents, Mary Rutledge and John Rutledge; and his parents-in-law, Elmer and Lillian Kissner.
He is survived by: his children, Tamera J. Rutledge, Jody D. Harvey, John W. Rutledge, Jr. (Laura) and Richard C. Rutledge (Lisa); his grandchildren, Zachary Rutledge (Rachel), Brandon Rutledge, Justin Rutledge (Sonya), Cora Rutledge, Katy Harvey, Diana Harvey, Kara Smith, Mara Smith, Elijah Rutledge, Josh and Kaleb Wilson; his great grandchildren, Jackson John Rutledge, Mason and Adalyn Rutledge; his sister Sandra Merritt; and his close friend Bear. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
