She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul VanGorder and Fern VanGorder (Guthrie); her daughter Vickie Martin; her grandson Jeb Smith; her brother Paul Robert VanGorder; and her nephew Kent VanGorder.

She is survived by: her husband Max Whonsetler of Avilla; her children, Stanley Whonsetler (Lana) of Avilla and Kathleen Smith (Jeffrey) of Kendallville; her grandchildren, Angelia Clark (Deron), Matthew Whonsetler, Heather Mary Smith and Jeffrey Smith Jr.; her great grandchildren, Dathan Clark, Davis Clark and Knox Smith; and her sister Ann VanZile of Avilla.
