He was predeceased by: his parents, Asbel Elam and Hazel Elam (Patrick); and his siblings, Larry, Jimmy Elam, Shirley Kilburn and Opal Hale.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Caudill Elam; his children, Randy Elam of Austin and Annette Johnson (Ronnie) of Austin; and his siblings, Johnny Caudill and Louise Vanover. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
