It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dora P. Hickman (Austin, Indiana), who passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Greenberry Pennington and Susie Pennington (Deaton); her husband Charles Hickman; and her siblings, Eugene, Ed, Roger, Earl Pennington, Imogene Brooks, Christine Golden and Dorothy Sipe.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Joyce Jones (Allen) of Henryville, Indiana, Phyllis Ann Simmons of Austin, Indiana, Shelly Guernsey (Andy) of Austin, Indiana, Sherry Huff (Lonnie) of Rogersville, Tennessee, Lisa Baker (Charlie) of Lexington, Indiana, Glenn Allen West of Scottsburg, Indiana and Jeffery Lynn West (Angie) of Austin, Indiana.; and her siblings, Lewis Pennington of St. Pete, Florida, Bob Pennington (Lynn) of Inverness, FL, Shirlee Bury (Bob) of Rogersville, TN and Juanita Dossett of Sun City, AZ.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Buchanan Funeral Home (115 N 2nd St, Austin, IN 47102). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
