He was predeceased by: his parents, George Luther and Jennie Louella McPherson Smith (Liggett); and his siblings, Lucian, Bill, Leland, Gladys McPherson, Elizabeth "Betty" Noble, Stella Giltner, Dale Giltner and Ervin Iceberg.
He is survived by: his wife Jeraldine "Jeri" Kathryn Smith (Iceberg) of Shady Nook; his daughters, Margo Northcutt (Bob) of North Bend, OH and Alicia Smith of Richmond, VA; his grandchildren, Miranda Watson (Dwight) of Richmond, VA, Bobby Northcutt of Columbus, OH and Ryan Smith of Richmond, VA.; his great grandchildren, Tyus and Kaya Watson; and his cousins, Janet Iceberg of Bear Branch, IN., Marlene Steuver (John) of Dillsboro, IN. and George Iceberg (Barb) of Dewberry, IN.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
