He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Sowers and Ida Sowers (Williams); his wives, Ethel Lyons, Melissa Briceno and Thomas Cotton; his grandson Joshua Sammons; his brother-in-law Walter Brown; and his nephew Douglas Brown.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joe Sowers (Linda), Teddy Sowers, Margaret Brown and Mary Sowers; his daughters, Melissa Briceno (Jordan Vierling), Christine Sammons (Lee), Mary Hanna (Mike) and Ruthann Sowers; his stepson Thomas Cotton; his grandchildren, Faith, Desiree, Ashley Mack (Jorrod), Mandy, Haley, Kaley, Mackenzie Briceno, Joclyn, Rhiannon Ritter, Jimmy Sammons (Lauren), Brandon Sammons (Jen), Brody Sandlin and Robert Williams; his great grandchildren, Grace, Jayce and Nova; and his nieces and nephews, Trish, Tracy Brown, Jessica Vaupel, Nikki, Sabrina, Walter Jr., Anthony Vaupel, Kevin Sowers, Michael Daniels, Robby and Teddy Sowers.
