He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Peugh and Fay Peugh (Moody); his sisters, Mary Alice and Lois Peugh Burcham; his brother-in-law Truman "Pete" Morgan (Donal Burcham); his nephew Michael Morgan; and his granddaughter Maggie Dickerson.
He is survived by: his wife Velma Race; his son Brian Peugh (Charlotte Hudson) of Dillsboro; his grandson Cameron (Liz Dietrich) of Carlisle, Ohio; his stepson Jeffrey Dickerson (Cathy Swinford) of Versailles, IN; and his siblings-in-law, John Race and Judy Race of Dillsboro. He is also survived by nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
Memorials may be given in honor of Basil to the First Baptist Church of Aurora, Oakdale Cemetery Fund, and Dearborn County Relay for Life.
