He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold M. Kurtz and Ladyne Kurtz (Keller); his son Christopher James Kurtz; his brother Don Kurtz; his sisters-in-law, Karen Diehl and Vickie Kurtz; and his nephew Jamie Lirot.
He is survived by: his children, Stacey (Tim Glenn), William Stanley "Stan" (Cindy Kurtz) and Stephanie Walker of Auburn; his grandchildren, Mandy (Zach Dirks), Brandy (Jason Combs), Joshua (Jessica Wertman), Breanna Emenhiser, Brennan (Maggie Emenhiser) and Alex Kurtz (Katee Kurtz); his great grandchildren, Harper, Fynnlee, Jaden, Braden, Everly, Michael and Georgianna; his siblings, Carolyn (Bob Richmond), Elaine Lirot (Ken Houghton), Jane (Tom Lambcke), Tom Kurtz and Steve Kurtz; and his brother-in-law Fred Diehl. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
