He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Bishop Hathaway Sr., MD and Mildred Elizabeth Hathaway (Painter); and his brother-in-law Dr. Richard Lieb. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Margaret Smith; his sons, Robert Clayton Hathaway, MD (Elizabeth) of Fort Wayne, Richard Henry Hathaway (Sara) of Auburn and Peter Winslow Hathaway of Auburn; his grandchildren, Andrew Hathaway, Greg Hathaway, Matthew Hathaway, Will Hathaway, Madison Hathaway, Meagan Hathaway and Mackenzie Hathaway; and his siblings, Clayton Bishop Hathaway Jr., MD (Carol) of Auburn, Rev. Bruce Bond Hathaway (Kristie) of Bedford, Ohio and Margaret Ann Lieb of Auburn.
