He was predeceased by: his wife Sally Jo Barkman; his son Steven Barkman; his parents, Herman Barkman and Shirley Barkman; and his cousins, Mary Catherine Rosentreter, Ron Miller and Janet Fitzsimmons.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Barkman and Lori Fitch (Jeff) of Alameda, California; his grandsons, Nicholas Barkman (Kimberly) of Indianapolis and Eric Barkman of Indianapolis; his great grandchildren, Kayne and Samuel Barkman; his sister-in-law Shirley of Goshen; and his niece Cathy Young (Sam) of Goshen.
