He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Shirk and Ethel M. Shirk (Starner); his wife Patricia Ann Shirk; and his siblings, Carson Shirk, Steven Shirk, Joseph Shirk, Barbara Huyette, Marilyn Yarde, Patricia Bornick and Carol Miller.

He is survived by: his children, Robert M. Shirk of Auburn, IN, Daniel S. Shirk (Dawn) of Huntertown, IN and Kimberly Shirk of Auburn, IN; his brother Don Shirk (Nancy) of Phoenix, AZ; his granddaughter Gabriella Shirk; and his great grandchildren, Cassandra Shirk, Evelyn and Adalyn Shirk.

Memorials are to the First Baptist Church – Garrett, IN.
