It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Andrew McCanna M. D. of Auburn, Indiana, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on June 30, 2021, at the age of 46, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparent Thomas Park; his sons, Jack, Aidan, Liam and Cormac; his wife Barbara; his mother Deborah Blackwell Mustard; his stepfather Michael Mustard; his brothers, Shannon (Sarah Savabi) and Colman; his grandmother Barbara Shaw Blackwell; his aunt Julia Blackwell Gelinas; his parents-in-law, Richard and Patricia Heslip; his grandfather Carroll David Blackwell; and also, Katherine (Christopher Ruhl) and Alexander Gelinas. He was also cherished by un uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
In his final year of practice, he found a refreshed sense of purpose at the Marion General Hospital Emergency Department assisting other frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
