He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert W. Mathews and Geneva May Mathews (Courtney); his daughter Tina Bender; his grandson Jeremy Shackleford; and his brothers, Bob, Larry, Bill and Richard Mathews.
He is survived by: his former wife Marilyn June Jennings; his children, Kandi Shackleford of Attica, Wendy Shackleford of Attica, Dawna Miller (Danny) of Chesapeake, VA, David Mathews (Romona Slinker) and Darren; his siblings, Tom Mathews and Barbara Thomas of Bradenton, FL; and also Kathleen Joyce Meeker. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic there will be restrictions of people limited to 25 in the funeral home building during the public visitation with social distancing required.
