He was predeceased by: his father Theodore Smith; and his mother-in-law Catherine Smith. He is survived by: his wife Cathryn "Cathy" A. Smith of Atlanta; his siblings, Jeffrey Stowe (Cindy) of Florida, Bob Stowe (Shelley) of Florida, Carol Bird (Steve) of Michigan and David Stowe of Michigan; and his sister-in-law Suzanne Snelling of Noblesville.
