He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Refner and Edna Refner (Peckhart); his former wife Violet Refner; his wife Klyta Refner; and his siblings, Charles "Brick" Refner, Bonnie Sharp, Mary Webb, Edith McNamara, Dorothy Watkins, Angeline Smith and Alice Porter.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Refner of Ashley and Jerry; his daughter-in-law Lora Refner of Ashley; his daughter Kathy; his son-in-law Brian Baughman of Waterloo; his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Greg Hilbert of Lafayette, Indiana.; his daughter Krystal; his son-in-law Nick Johnston of West Lafayette; his brother Larry; and his sister-in-law Sheila Refner of Waterloo.
