He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gilbert and Ruby Hazel Mullinix (Matthews); his wife Marian J. Mullinix (Allen); and his siblings, Wilford, Billy, Donnie, David, Clifford, Kenneth, Pauline, Roselle, Shirley, Kathy and Kay.
He is survived by: his son James DeWayne Mullinix (Lois) of Kendallville; his grandchildren, Jamie Rhodes (Toby) of LaGrange, Joshua Mullinix (Toni) of LaGrange, Amanda Powell of Huntertown and Joseph Spillner of Carlisle; his great grandchildren, Kinsley Rhodes of LaGrange, Nathaniel Mullinix of LaGrange, Hunter Allen of LaGrange, Laren Hitzeman, Layne Spillner of Kendallville, Kaidance Powell of Fort Wayne, Ryan Powell, Payton Powell of Huntertown and Adriyanna Spillner of Sturgis, Michigan; his brothers, Bob Mullinix, Clifton Mullinix and Carl Mullinix; his friend Austin L. Choate of Alpine; and his caregivers, Linda, Aaron Pfafman, Marj, Randy Noll, Rainelle and Greg Silver.
