He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Catherine Bookout; his children, Amy Juanita Sanders Squier and Bruce Arthur Robbins Fultz; and his siblings, David, Virginia Scott, Betty Jury, Dorothy Bruick, Phyllis Jontz and Helen Dillion.
He is survived by: his children, Ed, Mary, Matthew (Sandy), Jennifer Jones (Samuel), Mark (Mary), Ian (Lavinia), Nathaniel (Guadalupe), Clinton (Diana) and Jeffrey (Terri); and his siblings, Janet Meyers, Guy Bookout, Nancy Hunter (Russell), Nancy Falls and Daniel Fultz (Jan). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
