He was predeceased by: his parents, James MacLachlan and Ellen Mary MacLachlan (Beresford); and his siblings, Catherine Caddell (Rena) and James MacLachlan. He is survived by: his sons, Ian MacLachlan (Janet), Andrew MacLachlan, Bruce MacLachlan (Yvonne) and William MacLachlan; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Elizabeth, Holly (Clem), Mitchell, Alexis, Rowan and Elowyn MacLachlan. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and several extended family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
