He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Smith and Erma Smith (Garrett); and his siblings, Walter Garrett, Alonzo Keen Smith, Chester Wayne Smith, Ida Mae Clark, Willie Herbert Smith, Betty Faye Johnson and Steven Leroy Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Harper; his children, Debra Hart, Danny Smith (Vickie) and Denise Smith; his grandchildren, Brett Hart (Kelly), Alyssa Miller (Charlie), Holly Smith (Willie), Dustin Hawkins, Austin Hawkins, Drew Henderson (Cameron) and Mariah Taylor (Caleb); his great grandchildren, Naomi Hart, Michael Hart, Theodore Miller, Lilliana Hart, Eleanor Henderson, Barron Henderson and Dean Taylor; and his brother Elzie Q. Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Ray's name may be gifted to the Columbus Avenue Church of Christ.
