She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer P. Fuhrman and Margaret Fuhrman (Braun); her husband George R. Elkins; her parents-in-law, James and Effie Elkins; her siblings, LaVella Singer (Paul), Emil Fuhrman (Ellen) and Luther Fuhrman; her brothers-in-law, Paul Elkins (Doris) and Charles Wyllis Elkins; her nephews, Charles W. Elkins, Jr. (Skipper) and Roger Fuhrman; and her godson Tim Mercier.
She is survived by: her sister Luetta Mercier (George) of Bloomington; her sister-in-law Mary Padgett (Ralph) of Linton, IN; her children, Mark Elkins of Anderson, Kerry Elkins (Gina) of Uniontown, OH and Cheri Elkins of Schererville, IN; and her grandchildren, Joel Elkins of Arlington, VA, Mathew Palm of Zionsville, IN, Willis Elkins of Uniontown, OH, Erik Palm of Schererville, IN, Karsten Palm of Schererville, IN and Annika Palm of Schererville, IN. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Ruth's name may be gifted to St. John's Lutheran Church.
