He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Goetz and Jessie Goetz (Duncan); his grandparents, Leslie "Cub" and Maude Duncan; and his siblings, Charles Goetz and Janice McCleary.

He is survived by: his parent-in-law Billie T. Hix; his wife Billie T. Goetz of Anderson; his stepchildren, Ben Davis (Tiffany) of Anderson, Chad Davis (Christina) of Anderson and Nicole Hiers (Tony) of Jonesboro; and his sisters, Carol Brown (Raymond) of Selma and Virginia Goetz of Muncie. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
