He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Zerkle and Josephine Zerkle; and his former wife Marian Zerkle (Egly). He is survived by: his children, Cathy Tolbert (Steve), John Zerkle (Carla), Nancy Varner (Collet) and Susan Miller (Jerry); his stepsons, Mike and Jeff; and his daughter Kim.

Memorial contributions may be given to South Meridian Church of God.
