It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Joan Padgett of Anderson, Indiana, born in Muncie, Indiana, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dale and Ruth Ann Nixon; and her husband Ronald Lee Padgett. She is survived by: her siblings, Tom Nixon of Muncie, Betty Woodring (Tom) of Oakville and Jackie Wise (Ray) of Georgia; her stepdaughter Heather Long (Scott) of Pittsburgh, PA; her grandson Ian Long; her niece Rachel Nixon; and her nephews, Nicholas Woodring, Jerrard Dalton (Jen), Philip Dalton (Kelley), Travis Flatford and Dale Redmond.
