He is survived by: his children, Nina Newsom Wilson, Richelle V. Newsom and Nigel A. Newsom; his siblings, Nikki J. Newsom, Beverly A. Carter and Jackie C. Page; and his close friend Marilyn R. Goree. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
