He is survived by: his children, Lisa Thompson, Thomas Burton (Angie) and Heath Burton (Carrie); his siblings, Ralena Jones, Mike Phillips (Diane) and Joe Pat Phillips (Natalie); and his sister-in-law Francis Barnes. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
