He was predeceased by: his parents, George D. Hollingsworth and Julia A. Hollingsworth (Britton); and his siblings, Sally Hollingsworth, George Hollingsworth, John Hollingsworth and Donald Hollingsworth.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Hollingsworth (Thompson); his children, James Hollingsworth (Naomi), Jessica Robertson (Mike) and Jon Hartley (Karen); his sisters, Mary Stanton, Paula Hazelbaker and Kathy Helton; and his pet Shadow. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Madison County Humane Society.
