He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon J. Marvell and Velma Turner (Michael); his brothers, Hubert Marvell and James Marvell; and his stepfather Chester W. Turner.

He is survived by: his children, Ashlynn Marvell, Adam Marvell (Sammie Massoels) and Paul William Marvell, Jr.; his granddaughters, Liliann and Viviann Appleget; his siblings, Aloma Sue Smith (Floyd), Mike Marvell (Nancy), Robert Marvell (Sheila), Chester Turner and Jennifer Rinker (Kendel); and the mother of his children Leann Marvell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
