He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Hays and Ivy Hays (Litsey); and his brothers, Charles, Nolan and Raymond Hays.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Hays (Moore); his sons, Ty Hays (Peggy) of Greenfield and Doyle Hays (Lisa Fisk) of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Erin Hays (Christopher Burton), Matthew Hays (Brieann Staker), Christopher Hays, Zachary Hays (Nikita Kamra) and Kaitlyn Hays; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley DiRuzza, Nelma Moore and Verla Wright. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Frankton Christian Church.
