He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph O'Neill and Marie O'Neill (Derringer); his son James Ronald "Ron" O'Neill; and his siblings, Melvin O'Neill and JoAnne Price.
He is survived by: his wife Lynda O'Neill of Anderson; his children, Julie O'Neill and Joseph O'Neill (Lynn); his granddaughter Kelleigh Purtill (Tyler); his great grandchildren, EmmaLeigh and Grayson Purtill; and his grandson Lt. Kendall (McKenna).
Out of respect for personal and public safety, due to the current COVID-19 virus, a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
