She was predeceased by: her parents, Bethel Garretson and Nettie Garretson (Whetsel); her husband Lester Garland; her granddaughter Sandi Best; and her siblings, Robert Garretson, Lester Garretson and Dorothy Dashler.
She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Best (Terri) of Yorktown and John Best (Judy) of Anderson; her grandchildren, John Best (Helen) of Atlanta, GA, Todd Best (Holli) of Tallahassee, FL, Stephenie Mellinger of Chesterfield and Steve Best (Toavona) of Yorktown; and her sister Kay Hedges (Harry) of Anderson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
