He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Edwards and Dolly Mae Edwards; his wife Hazel Jeanne; his children, Herbert L. Johnson, Jr. (Monique), Kokomo, Charles L. Johnson (Porscha), Anderson and Karla M. Johnson; his uncle Clement (Clara) of Opelousas, LA; and his sister Nun.
Due to COVID restrictions, the family asks that facemasks be worn at the funeral home and at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
