He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Larcy and Anna Mae Smith. He is survived by: his wife Judy Smith; his children, James Smith (Dana), Sheralyn M. Burgess and Carinda Dawson (Shawn Schwab); his brother Richard Lewis Smith; and his grandchildren, Morgan, Dalton, Devin, Zach, Tasha, Megan and Kayden. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
