He was predeceased by: his wife Sondra Vores; his parents, Allison Vores and Imelda Vores; his siblings, Tim Vores and Amy Sczesny; his parents-in-law, Joan and Kenneth Russell; his brother-in-law Daryl Cox; and his nephew Ed Bollman.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Vores and Allison Vores (Brian Patterson); his grandchildren, Zachary Vores and Lyla Redmond; his siblings, Chuck Vores (Dottie), Nancy Bollman (Ron), Nick Vores, Margie Irwin (Dave) and Patty Hughes (Mark); and his siblings-in-law, Ron Russell (Julie) and Sherry Cox. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
