He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Smith and Alice Smith (Ward); his son Anthony W. Smith; his siblings, Leroy, Clifford, Charlie Smith, Ina Mae Harless, Alene Franks and Juanita Fowler; and the mother of his children Mildred Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ritenour Smith (Gibbons); his daughter Karen Lawrence (John); his stepson Danny Ritenour (Terri); his granddaughters, Heather McLeod (Dennis) and Myka Rusnik (Joe); and his great grandchildren, Zoey McLeod, John Rusnik and Nicholas Rusnik. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
