He was predeceased by: his parents, Jed Essex and Marveda Essex Jr. (Keesling); and his brothers, David and Ralph Essex. He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Essex (Shorb); his daughters, Kristie (Don Pate) and Joanna (Jacob Evans); his brother Arthur; and his sister-in-law Pam Essex.
