He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert DeWitt, Sr. and Floma Haas; and his siblings, Jerry, Herbert "Bud", Donald and Marilyn.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Shane DeWitt (Andrea), Kevin DeWitt, Joey DeWitt (Jamie), Christy Main (Mitch) and Jerry Clevenger (Jana); his grandchildren, Joey, Zak, Jayda, Andrew and Amber DeWitt; and his stepgrandchildren, Wes, Britni Riley, Valerie Walker, Autumn and Emily Clevenger.
