He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey C. Riedel and Violet Evelyn Riedel (Holland); and his sisters, Delores Hall and Phyllis Riedel. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Riedel (Skillman); his children, Nancy Wagers, Linda Ellis (Craig), Michael Riedel and Gary Riedel; his grandchildren, Sondra, Carly, Joshua, Jonathan, Michael, Scott, Jody and Zachary; his great grandchildren, Jay, Olivia, Ella and Deacon; and his siblings, Cheryl Thurston Love (Riedel) and Robert Lines. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
