He was predeceased by: his parent Elijah Summitt. He is survived by: his wife Madge Summitt (Chaffin) of Anderson; his stepchildren, Glen Tomlinson (Debbie) of Middletown, Wayne Tomlinson (Marsha) of Anderson, Forest Tomlinson (Maggie), Alan Tomlinson of Frankton, Alice Cobble (Dave) of Peru, Carol Purciful of Alexandria and Janet Oaks of Anderson; his sister Melinda Hinshaw (Stan) of Anderson; and his grandchildren, Sydnie and Marshal Tomlinson. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
