He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Grubbs and Rev. J. C. Grubbs. He is survived by: his wife Rev. Sylvia Kennedy Grubbs; his children, Leta Grubbs and Jonathan Grubbs (Mindy); his siblings, Christine Maxwell, George Grubbs (Patty), Maxine McCaw (Larry), Jerry Grubbs (Jan) and Perry Grubbs (Sue); his granddaughters, Sarah Clark (Austin), Gabrielle Grubbs, Rachel Boyer (Kyle), Hannah Grubbs-Oechsle (Ian) and Charis Grubbs (John Ray); and his great grandchild Elowyn Clark.

“He was my favorite professor at GBC and I was privileged to also call him my friend. Once when I was accused of falsehood, he stuck up for me and helped solve the problem. I'm glad that he met me at the Lemon Drop a few months ago and we were able to carch up with each other's life events. I will miss him greatly but, praise the Lord that parting is not forever for Christians.!”

“My thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Sylvia and family. Brother Dwight was my first pastor at Oak Grove First Church of God. I remember his visit to our home to invite my family back into the church where my Grandfather, Andy L. Carpenter had pastored when my parents were teenagers. I was around 4 or 5 y/o as I remember that visit. In 1989 I moved to Anderson, IN with my two young children. Sister Sylvia invited me to visit in their home. What wonderful, sweet people.”
