He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold L. Land and Lena K. Land (White); and his siblings, Robert Land, Frank Land and Mary Sheller.

He is survived by: his wife Gail Kay Land (Kirkpatrick) of Clearwater; and his children, Sherri Voytik (Joe), Ronald Land and Rodger Land (Terri). He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be give to the American Diabetes Association.

“I am saddened to learn of Don's passing. He and I shared a ride to HHS for a couple of years. Such fun to chat on the way to work. Unfortunately, I forgot to stop and pick him up one morning and only realized it after talking to him and getting no response. I said, "Don, you are awfully quiet this morning." Felt really dumb when I looked at him and he wasn't there. He was standing in the drive laughing when I returned to get him. He never let me forget that one. Super guy. Mickey Lowe”
