He is survived by: his wife Kathy Schmaltz (Ferguson); his children, Angela Legoff (Iyves), Dale Schmaltz, Jr., Michael Schmaltz (Katrina) and Rudy Schmaltz; and his sisters, Shirley Callahan, Margie Houser (Don) and Vickie Marsh (Mike). He is also survived by three grandchildren.
