He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Smith and Irene Smith; his brother Hade Smith; and his parents-in-law, Ralph and Estella Wise.

He is survived by: his wife Pat Smith; his children, Sherry Hale (Jamey), Rodney Smith (Joanna), Anderson and Lori Smith; his grandchildren, Megan Hill (Eli Frank), Jason Hale, Shane Smith (Rachel) and Cody Smith (Lexie Wells); his great grandchildren, Isaac Hill, Isaiah Hill, Lilah Smith, Lane Smith, Bailey Morrison, Estella Smith and Grady Smith; and his siblings, Blaine Smith (Judy) and Mildred Tuterow (Kent) of Sevierville, TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
